After middle school, Katsuki became a total outcast. He thought he'd end up the 'king' of the school when he got to UA. But when he got there, he saw how much stronger his classmates were.
Not to mention the rumors about his middle school days when he bullied Deku that people constantly dissed him about. His classmates saw that Katsuki was a bully and had no heart. Not the fact he was full of regret.

Time went by and he became that kid that never talked, and when he did he came off as awkward and a 'try hard'. Not to mention people were afraid to talk to him because his eyes were apparently 'too scary'.

But despite all of this, he still was a tempered person. Just more awkward and a bit depressed.

By then, he had accepted his fate and the fact that he had no friends and he wasn't going to ever have any. And for him, that was okay.

Eventually one morning there was a new transfer student. His name was ________.

Katsuki got an interesting vibe about him.

...

Katsuki had also taken an interest in music instead of trying to make friends he'd never have.

One day when Katsuki was assumed to be alone, he'd sing a song he'd started working on.
then he'd heard a loud thud.

Someone was listening.
