Like a fantasy, a dream come true. I hate to break it to you but that's unrealistic, untrue. The real world just isn't like that, for most people that is. There's the lucky few who are a part of that community, that live joyously in the magical realm, surrounded by magic every waking moment. That sounds fantastic, doesn't it? A living fairytale you could say. For most, yes. Then there's Luna. Luna, despite being involved in the magical realm, never belonged. She didn't have powers so was treated as an outcast, rejected by everyone including her own family. They shunned her and soon banished her from not just their home but the whole magical realm. Now she lives in the human world, going about her everyday life like an average person. She's left her previous life behind and that's just how she likes it. Unfortunately for her, you can't escape your past forever. No matter how much she protests, magic will always be a part of her life, hiding in the shadows, undetected but still there. All she wants to do is complete her final year of school without so many 'unusual' complications. As you're most likely aware, life never goes according to plan. Magic has always been a problem in her life and now it's back to haunt her. All that needs to be said is that she's not pleased. Can't the world just accept that she's ordinary? Luna's life isn't exactly 'normal' her parents are people you would call sorcerers. They don't belong in the normal human world but the world they once lived has been taken over by the Darkness and is unsafe for young children. When Luna turns 16 she is to cross to this world to not return until she decides to have kids of her own. As at 16 her abilities start showing which is also too dangerous because Luna herself isn't what her parents expected her to be.

The sky was a flat, depressing grey and the incessant, soaking rain left her constantly chilled. It was a typical "liquid sunshine" day in the Pacific Northwest. They drove past a single tall scraggly tree on top of a hill shrouded in mist. The creepy tree was full of screaming crows. How could she hear them from inside the bus when she couldn't even seem to hear the voices of the kids around her? Geez, that was an awfully freaking dark image. She shivered and looked away. What did they call a group of crows again? Right, a murder of crows. Perfect. The weather was certainly the only thing that was typical these days, although you'd never know it by looking around the bus at most of the kids as they sat joking and gossiping with each other just like they had before... before that day everything had changed. Idiots.
