King Haphul is irritated with his neighbours so he invites them to a series of contests. To smoothen out any ill will between all four races: Humans, intelligent and ruthless; Fae, cowardly and peaceful; Ged, intelligent and stuck-up. Then there are the Ver. Secretive and dangerous.
