After the events of Putting Others First, the Mindscape, for no apparent reason, decides to force Janus out of the Mind Palace and into the Imagination. That wouldn't be so bad on its own, but the Dragon Witch has decided to kill him, and is chasing him throughout the Mindscape.

The Dark Forest

However, within a few days of traveling through the forest, they are attacked and lost in the forest, with only a servant and knight for company. Mal, a dragon witch, lives in the forest with her two sons, Janus and Virgil. Though the three are powerful, Mal made enemies with the fae who have ever since been trying to kidnap Janus for revenge. Luckily, or maybe unfortunately, they ignore Virgil for the most part since he was adopted. When they cross paths with the humans, things get a bit... messy.
