Alysha-Mae Hadley had always been... different.
"Special," her dad used to say, ruffling her hair like she was a child genius or a ticking time bomb-he never quite decided which. Her siblings teased her gently, her teachers watched her like she might float away mid-lesson, and every person she ever dated ended things with the same line:
"You're just... a bit much, Alysha."
But it wasn't her fault that the world in her dreams felt more real than the one she woke up to. That she remembered things that hadn't happened-or hadn't happened yet. That she could never quite explain the feeling that someone, or something, was watching her.

"You see it too?" he asked without looking up.
Her heart stopped.

I closed my eyes ready for my death when I heard a very loud and dangerous growl, I swear I felt the ground under me shook by it.
