Dan is 55 he has had a good life in his opinion yet he feels like he's not going anywhere fast because he's not rich and he never had been well off. In this world if you aren't a rich man or at least well off then most people dont think much of you. After not ever making a mark or even being well known or famous he figured it's only a matter of time before he dies. He had been caring for his grand children when he met Miranda and knew right away that she was definitely different from anyone he had ever met or been with and he thinks he has seen everything, ( Little does he know that his life is about to change drastically).
