Flavien has been presented with the opportunity to live and study in England. Feeling it could be a way to escape past issues, he jumps at the chance. In doing so, he meets Bastian Halle, the man of his dreams. Could this man be linked further into his past than anyone predicted?

Some themes of violence and strong language present. This is a reworking of a fanfic I wrote over at A03 (this is still up by the way), I just felt it would work better with my own characters.

Finn has an honourable position; personal servant to the monarch of Cafi, a small country off the coast of France. He also has not-so-honourable a position; a man in love with another man, in the early 1800s. Oliver is being forced towards marriage, and Finn is being forced towards accepting his love is unrequited. As France begins to fall into another revolution, the world begins unravelling around them. Oliver has to fight to maintain the democracy he established, and Finn must cope with the reawakening of his less-than-ideal past as a con artist in the search for his long-lost brother. The two must learn who to trust and who not to trust as they begin to know each other more deeply than they every thought they could. Content Warnings Applicable to This Story: This book is set in the early 1800s, and I don't want to avoid talking about the horrendous things that happened to people of colour then. It will talk about slavery, but from a firm anti-slavery perspective, never glorifying or making excuses for it. Cafi itself is a fictional country and while I absolutely believe they would have had slave trade too (because most places did and I don't want to pretend they didn't), I want the book to include Oliver's fight to abolish slavery in his country. Otherwise, there may be previous mentions of abuse, but it will be extremely mild, nothing graphic, and the chapter itself will pre-warn you. Oliver's relationship with his family can be problematic at times. Please take care of yourself during any chapters that may be triggering for you.
Where dreams meet by William29Rus

"Where Dreams Meet" is a story of love, freedom, and inner conflict, unfolding in a world where forbidden feelings collide with the harsh constraints of society. Set in the 19th century, amidst aristocratic estates, bustling ports, and quiet gardens, the fates of two young men intertwine. Lucas, a humble gardener with a fiery determination to change his life, dreams of a new beginning in America. His eyes, full of hope, are fixed on the boundless ocean, but fate brings him to the Walden estate-a place that will change him forever. There, he meets Wilhelm, an aristocrat with refined taste, a musician, and a thinker who seeks solace in the sounds of the violin and the pages of books. Living under the weight of his family's and society's expectations, Wilhelm has long realized his uniqueness but hides it behind a mask of propriety. Between them ignites something they both fear to name. Feelings that grow in their hearts become a dangerous game, where every mistake could cost too much. In this intricate world, there is room for others too-Theodore, Wilhelm's childhood friend, whose hidden love and bitter jealousy push him toward self-destruction; Anna, the wise and kind maid who supports Lucas; and those who attempt to control their fates for their own ambitions. "Where Dreams Meet" is not just a love story. It is a tale of self-discovery, the fragility of dreams, and the courage to defy everything for freedom and happiness. This story will transport you to a world where the wind whispers of hope, music reveals unspoken desires, and the hearts of its heroes-like two opposing poles-are irresistibly drawn to one another, against all odds. Here, every decision and every small moment leads to the finale-touching, profound, and perhaps tragic. For where dreams meet, reality always leaves its mark.

Raiden, a young writer and a hopeless romantic, spends his days crafting stories as an escape from the cruel reality he faces. Bullied for being gay and disillusioned by love, he pours his heart into a novel about his ideal man-Sebastian, the perfect lover who exists only in the world he writes. In this fictional realm, Raiden loves him unconditionally, creating a utopia where Basti finally feels safe and cherished. But as reality continues to break him, Raiden's faith in love shatters. Overcome with despair, he decides to give his story a tragic ending-one where love is an illusion, and even Sebastian, the perfect man, cannot save him. In his final act, he writes about his own demise, mirroring it in real life by standing on the edge of a bridge, ready to end it all. Just as he prepares to jump, strong arms pull him back. Raiden turns, stunned, to see Sebastian-the very man he created-standing before him, real and alive. Confused and terrified, Raiden realizes his story has come to life, but the tragic ending he wrote still looms over them. As Raiden and Basti navigate this surreal reality, Raiden is faced with a terrifying question: Can he rewrite their fate, or is their love doomed to end in tragedy as he once believed? As he rediscovers hope and the true meaning of love, Raiden must make a choice-to embrace the love he once thought impossible or let his own story destroy them both. Can he change what's already been written, or is fate irreversible?
