Despite having moved between 4 schools in the past 5 years, Marley is still a nervous wreck when it comes to first days. Being the shy and reserved teenager that she is, meeting new people and making new friends is not at the top of her list of favorite things to do.

But when her father's job unexpectedly offers him the promotion of a lifetime, Marley knows she has no choice but to be supportive and put on a smiling face as she embarks on her sophomore year of high school.

Feeling completely alone in a new place, Marley strives to focus on her studies, while distractions all around her tug at her attention: her dad's insane new hours, the popular girls who are trying to be her friend (what is up with that?), the persistent boy who thinks he can change Marley's view on dating in high school, and the auditions for the upcoming band concert solo.

Will Marley find herself in D.C., or will it prove to be utterly chaotic; or both?
