 "Money of course, isn't that obvious" he replied with a smirk, his eyes shining with an evil glint. 

He wasn't the friend I once knew.

 "Don't worry you won't die alone. Bring him in" he ordered one of his guard dogs. 

"Let him go," I said immediately as I sighted who they brought in. He was unconscious and bruised.

 "Or what sweetheart?" he smirked

"He has nothing to do with this" I said and he clicked his tongue.

"Oh but he does" he said and before I could ask him what he meant he put a handkerchief with chloroform on my nose and I lost consciousness no  matter how hard I tried to stay awake.
