Kanvika asked a small 9-year-old patient who was lying on the bed suffering from emphysema (a chronic disorder related to the lungs) I'm fine Dr didi and meet my big brother, she said pointing her hand towards the other side of the bed. Without looking first, she continued to say, "Hi this is kanvi..." her voice fading away as soon as she saw the person standing in the opposite direction. The very next day of their marriage, he had to travel to london for his company emergency meeting and issues. So he never got a chance to see his own wife's face. "Don't do this," I said, voice trembling despite myself. "You know I can't bear your ignorance, aayansh." His gaze locked with mine, and the world shrank into the space between us. His eyes burned-anger, pain, something unspoken flickering behind the fire. "I won't accept this marriage," he said, voice rough. "You can't force me to accept it... to accept you. Not after everything you did." My breath caught. I stepped closer, leaving barely an inch of space, enough to feel his warmth seep into me. His lashes fluttered as if the closeness unnerved him. He dropped his eyes, his words breaking apart in a stutter. "I-It's not r-right. I... don't deserve you. You don't even know me completely." And then I saw it- His ears. Scarlet red.
