Thranduil has not yet sailed for Valinor, but the sounds of the sea has been calling him. He is about to depart to Valinor, when Aragorn comes to him for help. A new magical object has been found, a mithril one. It is now moving around Middle-Earth, people trying to steal it left and right. According to a Dwarf, it was a mithril mirror made for an Elf. Thranduil decides to go on this small quest with Aragorn, to feel the taste of adventure one last time, before departing to Valinor.
Oh how wrong he thought. This object was tied closely- too closely - with his past.

~ FOURTH AGE DESCRIPTION ~ ( read this )
It is now the Fourth Age, and no longer are there such things as pureblooded Elves, for most of them have Men's blood in them too, the result of
most elves departing for Valinor after Sauron's fall. The remaining Elves intermingled with Men over one hundred years. Alas, the same lies for Dwarves, who long foresaw this, due to their solitary lifestyle.
Thranduil has seen the hundredth year of the Fourth Age already, and wishes to depart for Valinor soon. He is the only full Elf and Eldar left around. He gets ready to sail to Valinor, but Aragorn comes to him with one request, and he can leave.
