It's Frankie's Sophmore year and Eli's Junior. Dnd because Eli failed tenth-grade science, he is forced to retake it. There, he meets Frankie where they become science partners. At first, their opposing personalities cause them to despise each other. But, after a while, Eli learns to let go of his ex, Clare and begins to befriend and eventually falls for Frankie.
