We've all read Frankenstein. We've all read, seen, heard, or... tasted Frankenstein (don't look at me, Halloween has some funky food). We're all familiar with the sickly, stitched-together cacophony of human bits and bobs. Frankenstein. The creature, if you will.

What we've forgotten is the monster it's named after.

                                                                                                 *****

In this modern spin-off of Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein," the mic has moved from beneath the creature's shriveled black lips, and beneath those of Victor Frankenstein. Pink, plump, and healthy, Victor's lips holds no resemblance to those of his notorious namesake. What surfaces from said lips may as well have been. As Victor faces the thing of his nightmares; this thing that seems to have been birthed from a grave, I just hope Mary Shelley isn't rolling in hers.

Where would I go?

14 parts Ongoing

Nora never wanted much. Just a steady home. Simple days. A life that held its shape. She didn't crave excitement or change. She only needed predictability. Her routines, her quiet, her small world. It was enough. She believed that if she kept everything perfectly still, the life she had built would hold. And for a long time, it did. But when the ground finally shifted under her feet, Nora didn't move with it. She froze in place, the way people do when they have no other direction to turn. Because where does a person go when they have nowhere to go? Warning: This story uses mature language and scenes. © IcecreamSundae5. All rights reserved.
