After her father discovers her horrible behavior lately, Tristan Ortega is forced to leave her home city of Chicago and spend her whole summer in the Outer Banks islands in North Carolina. There, she has to help clean up after hurricane Agatha, helping with the Cameron family. Unexpected friendship blooms between Tristan and Sarah despite their completely different personalities. Sarah isn't the only friend Tristan makes though. With memories from her last trip to the OBX from when she was seven years old, Tristan catches up with her old friend Kiara. After a night of partying with Kiara and her crew of Pogues, Tristan sparks the attention of bad boy JJ.
