You know that whole soulmates AU on tiktok where the person gets their soulmate's name on their wrist when they turn a certain age? Yeah, well this is kinda like that.
Tyler is a grade behind their age group, so when they get their soulmate's name, they don't go for that person. Instead, Tyler decides to do something most people wouldn't expect coming from someone so loyal and rightfully leading.
Riley is just a freshman with a pretty decent life. She doesn't look too much into soulmates and all that, she just wants to pass high school and get a good life. Although, Riley has some issues that she can't figure out, but can't. Nobody expects the things going through her head. Nobody knows about them either.

In this society, everyone has a soulmate. And the way to find yours is just look. Along with a soulmate, everyone has a small tattoo on their cheek with a symbol. Some could be a star, a flower, a yinyang, a fish, or even waves. There are so many people that the symbols are almost limitless. The tattoos don't care about gender or number. There could be gay matches, and there could even be polyamorous matches. The tattoos will tingle when you are near to your sm. And they will glow if you have found only one of your sm's if your match was poly. The trick is, you don't get the tattoo until you are 16. And even if you are near your match, as long as one of you are not of age, your tattoo will not tingle. Also, they are normal tattoos (except you don't get it or choose it, it just appears) so you can get rid of it. But if you do, your sm won't die but they will get very sick.
