Samantha "Sam" Bennett, a stuck-up high-schooler, lives a seemingly-perfect life in an elite neighborhood in New York City, surrounded by her equally affluent friends and her socialite parents. But, if there is one thing lacking in her, that would be her academic performance. Sam's lack of concern of it leads her grades - especially Math - to spiral down.

As a solution to improve her grades, her mother decides to hire a private tutor. Eighteen-year-old struggling student and an NYU hopeful, Derrick Lane, isn't the usual candidate. While his intelligence clearly contrasts that of Sam, without her knowledge, not only her grades are about to change, but her life as well.
