Unfortunately my human mate did not. Caden watched me from where he sat, he knew what I was thinking, and was thinking the same himself. We didn't know how much time I had. "Well, I for one, as Alpha, would not mind a human in our midst if she is your mate." I let a small chuckle slip out and leaned back in my chair, crossing my arms. "Is it because you're so accepting of humans, or because you insist on having me as your Beta?" Caden smirked at me, "Does it matter?"

They were the ones who couldn't live peacefully in the packs so they decided to make use of them. Soliditary wolves with alpha personalities. I am not like them. I'm worse. I'm a considered a rogue. Something that must be hunted down an exterminated. I'm not a bad person and I've never hurt anyone in my life but my wolf, I can't control her when I shift. We saw something when we were young. My whole pack was slaughter before our eyes and now my wolf is like a wounded animal she lashes out at times unable to tell between friend and foes. A uncontrollable wolf is dangerous in a pack. That is why I chose to live as a rogue, hiding from the werewolf committee and their laws. Luckily I've learned to blend in very well but when I end up in the wrong place at the wrong time my peaceful life quickly comes to an end. Now I'm the prisoner of the enforcers who should have killed me. Why haven't they killed me? Well because by some cruel trick my mate turned out to be their leader. I've watched and witnessed the mate bond between numerous wolves throughout the years. Werewolves. We all have a mate. One that is meant to be the other halves of our souls. Mates destined just for each other. When a wolf finds their mate, it should be the most wonderful experience. Love at first sight at its best. I wanted to feel what they felt. I wanted to meet my mate. I wanted to fall irresistibly, undeniably, and eternally in love. That's what mates are supposed to do, but I learned it's not the case for everybody. It wasn't the case for me. ____________________________________________ Camilla is starting a new life in a new pack after the death of her Grandfather, the man that raised her. It couldn't just back down to these he-man wannabe's after all the BS that they had put me through. My eyes widened as Victor let out a fierce roar and then before my eyes he went from man to beast. It happened so quickly that no one even had a moment to respond to it. He was charging at me from across the room and I was standing frozen with wide eyes as he came at me. The wolf collided with me full force and my body slammed into the ground with a sickeningly loud crack. I felt all my bones snapping and rattling together as I hit the ground. The wolf caged me underneath himself his big sharp teeth snarling inches from my face. I blinked a couple time as I stared into those glowing blue eyes and I felt my heart beating in ears. This was it, I was going to be killed because I couldn't keep my stupid mouth shut and just do what I had been told.
