Growing up as a young black teenager is rough. And nobody knows that better than Malik Moore. Hell, there are drug dealers right across from his apartment. So he tries to keep his head down to get out of the neighborhood alive. But when one of his friends gets shot at a party, Malik thinks there may be a bigger play at hand. In a desperate race against time, Malik tries to stop the death of another, while also preventing his neighborhood from turning into an all-out warzone.

Niramay Adrian Moore was just house sitting for his parents, keeping the place clean and attended to. His parents didn't tell him where they were going, not that that was any different from every other time they left him alone with only his best friend Jazlyn, his beautiful Cane Corso. Nothing terribly horrible was supposed to happen, the worst would be if he tripped down the stairs and sprained his ankle. Not members of a gang break into the house and threaten him at gunpoint, ready to kill if they didn't find his parents. His saviors? The unlikely members of another gang. The majority of which are either flirty, indifferent, or cold to his existence. Some seem to find him useless baggage that they could do without. Until they find out the skills he has which could make him worth their time. But will Adrian's troubled past hinder him from making decisions that could ultimately change his life for the better? Or will he crack under the pressure of the cold hearted boss who's slowly and unwittingly making his way into Adrian's own broken heart?
