*Warning* Starting from Chapter 38, this story will contain strong language, violence, and events which are inspired by real-life events. This story is also lore-heavy; significant knowledge of Nikke's lore is recommended, although not required to understand. Read at your own discretion. Humanity is decimated. Annililated by beings known as Raptures. All over the world, they slowly pushed us back until there was nowhere else to go. Nowhere else but underground. And so, as a final safe haven, the Ark was created. An underground utopia, built to support millions, was created. All was well. However humanity views them as expendable tools that can easily be replaced despite all of them having human levels of thinking. Two such individuals however wish to help the Nikkes in their battle against the Raptures. The first the grandson of the company CEO that launched humanity's last functioning satellite and son of the Tetra Line CEO. The other a Commander who will go to great lengths to support his Nikkes while fighting on the surface. Utilizing the technology left behind by Kurenosuke Hiden, these two men will jump to the sky in hopes of reaching a better future for both Humans and Nikkes! Humanity once stood on the top of the world. They ruled the planet with an iron grip. Their rise in technology, industry, engineering, and science were quickly growing. However, an invasion on a worldwide scale had occurred in late 2023. Though there were initial successes in repelling these unknown, mechanical entities. They would eventually start to gain ground through quick adoption of newer variants of their beings and adjusting to counter common military tactics. However, more was needed, so came the introduction of Nikkes, an experimental female soldier that would be the first cybernetic frontline soldier. Even though there were attempts of converting males to such a task, they would become unsuccessful, as it was found out that males were more susceptible to cognitive dissonance and suicide. And so, females ranging from 18 to 30 years of age would remain the main source of Nikkes. As the war raged on, more variants of Nikkes would reinforce or replace the quickly diminishing forces of the world. There would be a significant breakthrough in the Nikkes, with the introduction of the Grimm models of Nikkes. Five Nikkes would be produced by a now defunct company. This squad would be called Goddess. They would be commanded by a special forces Captain Nicholas Miller, and through their first missions, they would further prove the effectiveness of specialized Nikkes and even push the Raptures back some. However, even their efforts would not be enough to stop the tithe of Raptures from encompassing Europe. After many years of fighting, there was one last desperate defense of a structure known as the Ark. Unfortunately, humanity would end up underground where they would spend the next 5 centuries fighting the raptures in smaller scale battles, skirmishes, and special operations. All while the fates of Goddess squad and the now legendary Captain Nicholas Miller had remained a mystery.Complete
