My name is Kala, I'm half Water Tribe and half Fire Nation. My father is a good friend and admiral for Fire Lord Ozai and my mother is one of the best Healers to ever come from the North Pole. At school, I got close to Princess Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee as well as Azula's brother, Zuko. I loved living in the Fire Nation, but I had always wanted to visit the Northern Water Tribe where my mother came from. Things happened and the war got worse. I finally get my wish and it is hard being in between nations at war, especially when I belong to both. Thankfully, I'm not alone; I have Zuko and Uncle Iroh.

I remember everything that happened that night. First there was shouting, voices ringing angrily through the house. Then came the fighting. The guards attempting to take him by force; my father fighting back. Mother grabbed me and my brother, taking us outside to avoid the flames being thrown around our home. I strained against her, desperate to get to father, who's screams could be heard from inside. My mother forced me to stay put as she ran back to the house to help father. Neither of them came back. My brother and I hid in the forest next to our house as the guards came out of the burning house. He told me to stay hidden while he went to check things out and I didn't move until the house collapsed. My brother never returned.
