I could barely hold my phone with my shaking hands.
'Luke?' I whispered, desperate to hear his voice.
'Soph? Are you ok? What's wrong?'
Tears clouded my vision. 'I need you to come and get me... This man was chasing me... He tried to...' I broke down, slumping against the wall behind me and down onto the sodden, cold pavement. My numb fingers clung to my phone for safety.
'SOPH? Where are you? I'm on my way, are you safe?' He sounded terrified.
'I'm okay, I'm outside the bus station and there are people around now', I managed to get out. I could see a group of women at the end of the road, waiting for a bus. 'Just please come quickly Luke.'
'I'm coming baby, I'm on my way, just stay right where you are, okay?' His voice was firm, reassuring.
'Okay.'
'I love you Sophie, I'll be there in five minutes.' The line went dead.
