    The Cuthbert's have finally arrived back from their 5 year long trip to Nova Scotia, but return to Avonlea with their newly adopted daughter Anne who is already the talk of the town.
    
    As she begins her junior year in High School Anne immediately catches the eye of two students. Charlie Sloane and Gilbert Blythe. She also becomes close friends with Diana Barry and Ruby Gillis.
