He breathed out a little laugh, "I like you." His voice was quiet and simple.

I couldn't react any slower, "You do?" I had stepped closer then I remembered, and placed myself back to my ground before he could answer.

He looks at me surprised and his smile turns into a gentle one. I think I see a speck of sadness in his eyes, but my attention is drawn to his hand. "Hello, I'm Mark Adams, a professional photographer. Nice to meet you," and shakes my hand. I notice he addresses me formally as well. His handshake is strong but still gentle. I feel like he doesn't want to let go, but soon does and sits back in his chair.

"That was weird, but I can't stop my heart beating ten times faster than it should be. Laying down on the bed I face away from the bathroom door not wanting him to look at me. I pull the white cover up to my nose and look at the wall. I hear the bathroom door open and footsteps reach closer to the bed. The covers are being moved behind me as Mateo gets ready to sleep.
