He cleared his throat and then looked her straight in the eyes. "Rebecca, we are mates."

"Mates? What the hell are you talking about?"

"Soul mates. The Moon Goddess gifts each werewolf with a mate. Our perfect partner. Our other half. We... you and I, are mates." He explained.

"And you know this how? Because you sure as hell didn't mention anything the thousands of times, we were together when we were kids."

"You can't recognize your mate until you are 18. I left when I was 17. I didn't know then."

"But somehow you just know now?"

"Yes." They had been apart for too long. He needed to touch her. He needed to get her back in his arms. The continued separation was making him irritable.

She huffed. This was like pulling teeth. "How?"

"I just know."

"Tell. Me. How."

"Because!" He exploded then he closed his eyes for a moment to calm himself before continuing. "Because when I saw you again in Norway the entire world tilted on its axis. The center of the universe shifted. You are the center of my universe now. I simply revolve around you. Every cell in my body is drawn to you." As if to illustrate his point, he walked slowly towards her. "Every instinct I have tells me that you are mine. My purpose now is to love, care for and protect you. You are mine, Rebecca. And I am yours. You were very lucky that I didn't rip your clothes off and prove to you and everyone in that hotel lobby just how much you are mine." He finished standing in front of her, a swirl of emotions in his eyes.

"You would do that in a hotel lobby?"

"When it comes to you, there is very little I wouldn't do."
