The Second Crusade approaches Constantinople, the richest city in 12th century Christendom. Vespasien has seen the destruction wrought by the Crusade, and he finds his faith wavering. Now, as the enemies of the church rise up to defend their lands, Vespasien must face off against them, and a much darker threat. Within the walls of Constantinople, a creature stalks the streets, one of the very creatures that has stalked Vespasien's worst nightmares. To continue on to the Holy Land, and achieve the dream he's been striving for, he must defeat this blood sucking demon, or die trying.

It is 1147. Louis VII, King of France, begins his march to the Holy Land. The Second Crusade has begun. Hoping to redeem himself in the eyes of his god, Vespasien joins the march, eager to prove himself worthy of knighthood. The march is not without its dangers however. Something unnatural follows the crusade. Plagued by visions from his past, Vespasien doesn't know if he's losing himself to madness or not. What he does know is, if he is to survive, he must first battle his way through angry peasants, vengeful Saracens, and a creature that thirsts for blood.
