The blistering sun beats down on Lunamis's face as she gets on the bus with a small suitcase in tow, her sister following closely behind. A new adventure was awaiting her as she sat down in a window seat, her sister doing the same on the opposite side of the aisle. As the bus moved down the street Lunamis took one last glance at her newly found home from the window as the shadows of the trees shifted.
Removing her glasses Lunamis pressed her face against the window, feeling the strong vibrations of the bus rattle her head as she drifted off....
"Hey...," said a small voice poking her shoulder, "Is it alright if I sit here?".
Lunamis looked up irritatedly to see a short-statured dark skinned girl staring back at her with big brown eyes.
"Sure," Lunamis said sleepily, her expression softening.
The girl sat next to her sheepishly, pulling out a book from a little pocket bag she carried on her left hip, the spine of the book reading, 'To Kill A Mockingbird'.
Lunamis pressed her head back against the window, looking out at the unfamiliar neighborhoods, the change in scenery sparking an interest in her mind. As the bus drove on Lunamis caught a sign that had 'Cherry Ave.' written on it in bold white letters.
Realizing she was not that far from where her stop was Lunamis dozed off in hopes of waking up in a more foreign place. The lemon yellow sunned burned red shapes into the back of Lunamis's eyelids as she drifted off into the last peaceful sleep she'd have for decades.

Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. I managed to jump out of the car as it continued flipping. I landed in the mud, rolling a few times before being able to get back on my feet. I looked at her a few feet away from me. I could see blood pooling around her body and mixing with the water. No, this couldn't be happening. I jumped up and ran to her body. I picked her head up, laying it in my lap. Her back flashed with sharp pain. Her eyes pricked with fear as she drank in his uncovered face. Deeply tanned skin. Ruby red eyes-ruby red eyes? Thick, slashing eyebrows. Flat, broad nose. Buzzcut. Handsome. That was as far as she would go in complimenting him considering this guy held a knife to her throat. When he spoke, his voice came out like thunder. It held a thousand threats and a thousand secrets. It held promise of pain if provoked. "If you scream," he warned, mouth pulled in a slight snarl, "this ends quickly." She didn't dare nod against the blade. He noticed and amusement lit up for just a second in those devilish eyes. Oh, whoever the fuck this was, she already hated him. Considering her predicament, panic was the most prominent emotion coursing through her at the moment. "Good." The Moments I Recall
He looks out beyond the edge and I can't seem to pull my eyes away from him. He smiles and speaks, but I can't hear anything he says. Her eyes widened slightly and her chin rose. She looked at his hands then back at him. His dark eyes gleamed in a challenge. "You've not harmed me or mine, faery." She spoke out loud. "Blood does not scare me and neither do you. Keep your dog on its leash." Then she turned and calmly walked back inside. Intrigued now, he went to the window of the house and watched as she reassured her mother that the dog was gone "I'll see you tonight, reckless child." He promised softly. **** Marcus felt himself beginning to wake and struggled to stay in the dream. But it was no use. His eyes opened and he released the pillow his hand was gripping. It was the same one that she had laid her head on every night. His head went into the pillow heavily for a moment, breathing in her faint scent. He hated and treasured dreams like that with equal fervor. He rolled over on his back and stared at the ceiling. It had been decades since she'd been forced to break that promise. He lifted his hand and touched the ring that had been her last gift. It had been decades, but it was yesterday. ***I did not skimp on the steamy scenes so consider yourselves warned ok?
