(Y/N) (L/N) is the daughter of a peasant family of the Fire Nation, and is a prodigy with anything she tries. When Fire Lord Azulon learns of her, he immediately appoints her highly among the ranks in the Fire Nation army.
The only perk of being such a young general, is that she gets to spend most of her time in the palace, studying and training the royal children. Her and Zuko become close friends quickly, bonding over their shared understanding of being treated like an outsider despite their gifts.
Then, (Y/N) is sent out to finally join the war and fight alongside General Iroh at Ba Seng Sei, where she betrays the Fire Nation by defending all of the innocent people they're attacking. She is taken prisoner and thrown in jail upon their return, only given a minute to speak with her friends before seemingly disappearing forever.

How could she not, after all he's done? But he's there, and she's always, always conscious of that fact. In the third, and final, installment of When Worlds Collide, Sam has to make a choice. Several choices. Who will she choose? What will she choose? Is Sam doomed to never see her family again, or she doomed to never see her new friends and home again?

But as time passes, (Y/n)'s feelings for the Prince chance as well. Now she is conflicted by the idea of being a mere servant and in love with the Prince, along with the fact that back home in the Northern water tribe her best friend and arranged fiance waits. There is an old folklore about the Children of the Forest. They were mortal spirits who were the First Benders with the ability to travel freely to the spirit world and to the human realm. He sought out dragons and in one of his searches he found a Child of the Forest with a Fire Element by sheer unfortunate luck and after defeating her, he imprisoned her. (Y/N) was seen as the key object of victory within the Fire Nation and a driving force of power to their legacy and supremacy but to Zuko she was not a weapon of mass destruction or a spirit creature; she was so much more. As the Sozins Comet approaches and the Avatar Aang prepares to face Firelord Ozai with the help of his friends, it's clear that Zuko and (Y/N)'s paths are more far apart than they know.
