The world around 15 year old Michael Afton is falling apart. His mom left them, his sister was killed, and his father never pays attention to him. He was practically raised by his father's best friend, Henry Emily. To maybe get his father's attention, he scares and taunts his little brother Chris. Eventually Michael and his gang of friends take their taunting too far and end up unraveling the secrets of their small town.
