Guilted: Wars Against The Past (Editing)
The things I knew that were once unethical, were bound to be saintly. The dreams I dreamt once upon a time, seemed to be an epitome of nightmares. The heart I thought I stole long ago, always belonged to someone else. The crimes I have committed all my life, became a handful of lessons that I ought to learn. The world I looked up to once, became a mortal enemy of mine. The family I thought would disown me, fought my battles for me. The life I never imagined I'd live, sadly it became a life I'd rather live than die. Lastly, the guilt I carried in me for the each and every second of my living, was a poison spreading and gradually banishing everything around me. Clearly, I was bounded by the past! Never have I imagined for the galaxy of guilt in me to steadily transform into a matter of great; Love. No, it wasn't for my dead sister, or for the woman I once claimed to love, or for my money-grubbing father, or even for the woman who was destined for me. Majestically, it was for Someone who I never ever thought it would be for; My Maker. Assalamualaikum My Dear Brothers and Sisters of Islam!!! Daw'ah, is to call, request, encourage people to Islam. Now since we're all moderately teens who are shy when it comes to the whole introducing of Islam to others and all, why not take advantage of what we are all good at? Technology!!! This wonderful site, gives us the opportunity to create and post our own writing. I got to thinking, "Hey, while we're at it, why not create an on line book about Islam?" Many of our peers don't understand many of the things that we do, the way we dress, the things we eat, they don't really get why we do it. They're to shy to ask out in the open, so they'll always have that word nagging at the back of their heads going "why." So I have decided to create this book, so that we can inshAllah explain Islam in our own way. Notice that I said "WE". This story will be a collection full of random stories inspired from writing prompts off the internet. I take no credit for the prompts I find, but I'm simply using them to create cool short stories to share. The Scars I Carry
A collection I've put together of a few original poems I've written over the years. These poems are relating to personal experiences and emotions, and I debated publishing them for a very long time. I've finally decided to publish some of my work in hopes that they can help some people through difficulties, as writing them helped me. I will be adding more as I write them of course. There are various forms and styles so each piece is different from the others, although this collection follows similar themes. I will be putting trigger warnings for each and every poem that requires them, as well as which triggers are contained in which poems that way you have the best idea of what you will find. If at any point you feel triggered by my writing or by something else, please don't be afraid to reach out for help, you are never alone, I promise you. The themes/possible triggers contained within this collection are the following; self-harm, suicide attempts and general talk of suicide, emotional and psychological abuse, childhood trauma, mental health and mental illness (anxiety, depression, ptsd, anorexia- etc), death and dying-and others.
