"I can consider your request," he finally replied, causing her face to light up with hope. The weight of her desperation seemed to lift momentarily, replaced by a glimmer of possibility. But then, Kabir paused, making her heart sink. "On one condition," he added, his voice low and serious. The room suddenly felt suffocating, as if the air had been sucked out, leaving only tension and uncertainty. "Finish what we started the other day." His words hung in the air, heavy with unspoken desires and unfinished business. Kiara furrowed her brows, confusion evident on her face. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly. Her mind raced, desperately trying to piece together the fragments of their shared history. Kabir leaned in closer, whispering into her ear. "Spend the night here," he said, his words sending a shockwave through her body. Her eyes widened in disbelief, unable to digest what she was hearing. The room seemed to spin, blurring the boundaries between reality and fantasy. She had never expected this twist in their complicated relationship. [BLURB] "Well, now I'm back and I'm gonna drag you to court, you piece of shite," she said before passing a humorless chortle. "Do that and you're doomed." He sniggered, his manevolent gaze hurling obscenities towards her. "Oh yeah? How?" She rose a perfect eyebrow, animosity etched on each lineament. "Let's just say, I have something of yours that'll destroy you." The telltale monstrosity perceptible in his evil kingdom of eyes set a havoc inside her adrenaline rushing body but she held her grounds strong. "And what's that?" And there he showed her something that choked the life out of her frail body as she lost her balance in dizziness. ****** Love is elusive but sometimes it knocks right at your door but you're too arrogant to pay it any heed or maybe too scared to acknowledge it. **Part of Preloved Series- Can be read as a stand-alone** You don't have to read Preloved in order to read this book. You can read this story on its own but my personal advice would be to read Preloved first if you haven't already, but it's completely up to you guys! ---------------------------- Hamza and Ayat had been living two different and wholly disconnected lives. They are not easy, they are not simple, and they most definitely don't agree on most things...then why are their paths colliding? Can two broken souls be woven together in love that is both pure and real? And if so, how far can you go for the one you love? ---------------------------- 'You hate me?' He gripped my wrist harder. 'You are hurting me Mr.Hamza...' I swallowed back my resentment. His grip loosened around my wrist, but he didn't let me go completely. There were so many emotions twirling in my chest that I felt like my heart was going to explode. 'And you are hurting me, do you think that I planned to fall in...' He let go of me and looked away. I needed to get away from him, I turned around to go back to my room, but he grabbed my hand again and made me look at him. 'I am sorry' He said out of despair, his eyes darted all over my face waiting for my reply. He looked so vulnerable as opposed to a second ago when his eyes were full of rage. I couldn't move.
