Humans have always been storytellers. From the day they were able to write, humans have recoded stories and shared grand tales of creatures larger than life. Myths and legends explaining how the world was created, how humans came into existence or why death was necessary were spread, speaking of characters, heroes, in the most ancient of story types. But that's all they ever were; Stories.

It was foretold that the leviathan was the physical embodiment of chaos and pain; a monstrous creature destined to bring death and destruction to the moral world. As it travelled the Earth, it was said the serpent would leave nothing but torment, grief and agony in its wake, annihilating anything that crossed its path as it searched through eternity for the souls of the damned to consume. At least that's what the stories said.

What they didn't say was that the famed monster was a tortured child, a young woman captured by bad men in their quest for global domination and subjected to the horrors of scientific experimentation. Manipulated, abused and beaten, the young Julianna Barnes was forced into becoming a monstrosity, an affront to nature, intended to become a weapon for the men who abducted her in the first place.

Now, nearly two years later, the world Julianna remembered is changing. New heroes are finding their places on the battlefield in familiar faces, and Julianna is freed from her torment. When her family is threatened and her world turned on its head, the leviathan must overcome her fears and fight for what she loves against the very man who destroyed her life.
