Ikari Shogeki lives in the middle of the Japanese woods with his family. And he hates it. The bugs, the animals, the intense heat, everything, he just cannot enjoy it. Once Ikari graduates from high school he plans to move to the city to try and become a movie director for horror films, never to return to the woods, just the way he wants it.

One day, Ikari is hiking through the forest, exhausted, his family had gotten ahead of him and left him, assuming he knew the way back, which he didn't. He collasped to the ground, prepared to faint when he's picked up.
