Six months after the events of 'Not By Blood' war has been waged on the Clave with Azazel and the Lightwood-Bane household leading the charge. In the midst of the carnage, Jem Carstairs and his wife call Jem's Parabatai, Alexander Lightwood-Bane to Buenos Aires to help take over the Institute there. Alec may end up coming back home with more than he bargained for.
Back home, Wesley Thomas discovers that there have been some random killings back in Europe that are seemingly calling him out and there is only one person that he can think of that would do such a thing; the same person that Alec Lightwood-Bane had not been able to track down. And with a surprise for Clary in the works, how will a ghost from the past spoil his plans.
