The kingdoms of Sorean and Ikharyn have always been at war with each other, for as long as anyone could remember. Ava, a 20-years-old orphaned shieldmaiden, knows no other life beyond her training as part of the Valkyries, a subdivision of the Ikharyn Elite Guard, made up entirely of women.
