In a world without the Avatar, the people desperately craved a savior, someone to end the tyranny of the Fire Nation. This saviour had to be the Guardian, the one who could wield two elements. Then the world heard what child had become the Guardian, it was Princess Akemi of the Fire Nation, Fire Lord Ozai's eldest child. The world lost hope, blind loyalty of a daughter to her father and of a princess to her nation would cloud the Guardian's judgement and she would fight against the rest of the world. Everyone failed to see however that young Akemi was perceptive and would lead an unexpected life.

Stern and with a temper to match her Nation's element, Akemi carved her own path. When her brother was banished, Akemi didn't hesitate to follow him. The majority of Zuko's exile, Akemi spent by his side, aiding him in his impossible quest to regain his honour. 

All that time outside of the castle walls opened Akemi's eyes and she finds her worldview cracking, ideals changed and loyalties shifted. Akemi betrayed people she should have betrayed years before and people she never should've.

This isn't the story of some girl becoming who she was meant to be, this is the story of Akemi paving her own road and shaping her destiny.

This story takes place after the war has settled. Aang and Katara finally together, Zuko the firelord, Sokka being,...well Sokka, Toph happy and never to return home, and the nations were finally at peace. When team Avatar decides to return to the southern water tribe to visit Sokka and Katara's family, they end up bringing Zuko along, giving him a well deserved break of running the fire nation. However, feelings start to make themselves known. Feelings that Aang doesn't like, little does he know he ends up pushing Katara into the arms of the edgy firebender, which was the last thing he was trying to do. Will this new romantic relationship tear team Avatar apart? Will it make them stronger? Will Katara's new found heated relationship be accepted by her tribe? Can the group move past it, and continue on? Will Aang ever get over Katara and find someone new? Knowing it's never easy ridding the feeling of that first love. And one of the most importance will Zuko find his mother? On a different note Azula, the sister of the new firelord, has been in prison for quite some time, there is obviously no way of her being released on good behavior. She plans to escape and find Tai Lee and Mai and "ask" them once again to join her side and take her revenge on her brother Zuko, Katara, their friends, and the Avatar. And plans to overthrow and take over the fire nation, feeling that her father apparently wasn't strong enough to hold his place.

(Y/N) is a young Earthbender and orphan who lives in Gaoling. He was dumped by his parents when he was a baby, and he was taken in by a kind old woman who ran an orphanage. He learned to use his bending to help her with the chores, and to protect himself and the other orphans from the bullies and bandits who roamed the streets. He had heard of the Avatar and his friends, who were fighting to end the hundred-year war and thought very highly of them and how cool it would be to join them on their journey. Earthbending came very Naturally to Y/n, and he soon discovered something both good and terrifying about his bending ability. Luckily for him, the avatar and his friends were coming to town; and the word was that the avatar needed an earthbending teacher; he knew just the right person for the job. ******** Koji is a Firebender and a soon-to-be lightning bender, born into the royal family of the Fire Nation. He grew up with his cousins Zuko and Azula, and their friends Ty Lee and Mai, but he always felt different from them. His father is General Iroh, the Dragon of the West. Fast forward to when Azula is sent on a mission to capture the Avatar and bring back Zuko and Iroh, she asks Koji to join her. It is a time of prosperity for most, but the crimes commited during the war couldn't be reversed. Benders were taken away from their families, people were slaughtered, their belongings, homes and land taken away. This, had been the instance when it came to the northwest part of the Earth Kingdom, that had went on to become the Fire Nation colonies. The people of the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom lived on in the land that was given to them and gradually, they became one. They collaborated and cooperated in order to live and so they got richer, learnt to depend on each other for their survival. By the end of the war, the people, even though they came from different backgrounds, were one. A decade after the end of the war, the Avatar is commanded to solve the matter of whether the former Fire Nation citizens need to move or not. Aang believes the nations need to be separated. The people in the colonies do not, hatred starts to grow in their hearts. The Avarar will need the help of a companion more than any other time, and there is no better person to aid him than the secret waterbender that's part of the Fire Nation fleet, the woman who risked her own life to get him to safety, even though this had been the first time they had met in their lives.
