Everyone remembers when he came to town and swooped Avery Clemmings of her feet. Everyone remembers when they started planning a wedding that would beat all. 

No one talks about how he left. Or why there's a girl who comes to the smallest restaurant every day at 2 -  It's just unacceptable.

What happens when he comes back to town with a bottle a whiskey in hand and an apology in his heart.

Avery just never got to hear it.
