They say that once, many years ago, there were two sisters: Aubade and Celestial. Aubade was the keeper of light and life, while Celestial was the holder of darkness. Aubade possessed the power of life and love, when Celestial would be hidden in the shadows of night.

Aubade fell of age when she would get married; Celestial wasn't allowed out of her room. Celestial was raged - being kept in a room like an animal did things to a person. She broke out of her cage determined to get even with her sister.

Before she could seal the fate with death, a witch cast a spell. Celestial would be a slave to the night as the animal she was and Aubade would be ridded of her powers.

Everyone knows that bedtime story. It's fictional. Made up by a person to teach kids that when there is good, there is evil. But maybe evil is there for a reason.

Then could someone explain why in hell Celestial's son after me, of all people?

But after trying to attend high school like any normal sixteen-year-old, things quickly spiral south when her Stalker uncle finds out about her and catapults her out of anonymity and into the awareness--or possibly the crosshairs--of The Order of the Wolfstalker. Maddie must think fast and figure out a way to keep herself and her family safe, or risk losing everything. Including her life. [[word count: 70,000-80,000 words]]
