The Civil War is being fought along the Carolina coast. In a shanty inhabited by a grandmother and granddaughter, two Union soldiers thrash into the underbrush, making their way to the weather-beaten shack.

Things go terribly awry when the character flaw of opportunism strikes the commanding officer. 

This story is based on a True Account of a Deathbed revelation in South Carolina newspaper archives when I was researching my novel, "Jenkins: Confederate Blockade Runner".All Rights Reserved
