Danny Gonzalez has spent his life fighting. Fighting through an abusive childhood. Fighting through the grief of losing his wife. Fighting through the torture that nearly killed him. And for years, he fought through the aftermath-the PTSD, the nightmares, the pain that never truly faded. But now, he's facing a battle he cannot win. Stage IV gastroesophageal cancer. A slow, agonizing death sentence. Six months. Maybe a year. His body will waste away. His strength will vanish. His lungs will fail. The pain will become unbearable, stretching on until there's nothing left of him but suffering. Even if he fights, even if treatment buys him time, the cancer will return, relentless and unstoppable. For the first time, Danny isn't sure he wants to fight. He's tired. The suicidal thoughts he once silenced creep back, whispering that he could end this on his own terms. That he could let go before the disease takes everything from him. But Drew won't let him give up. Kurtis refuses to let him go. His children still need him, too young to understand that every moment could be the last. Yet the question lingers-what happens when the man who has spent his whole life surviving... no longer wants to? The battle isn't just against cancer. It's against himself. And this time, he knows-he won't win.
