Sherah Baguilat had her life all planned out. She is to serve God with her father, a missionary whose calling is to bring the people of Kalinga to salvation. Despite being high in the mountains, she looked forward to what she will become - a preacher of the Gospel.

Finally, at age twenty four, a graduate of Nursing and Theological Studies, she leaves her life as a city girl to join her father in the High mountains of Kalinga, deep into the forests of Tinglayan to fulfill her call.

What she is unaware of, however, is what comes her way when she gets there. For her call is not only to bring the people there to salvation, but to bring Eli Lumaweg to salvation - the captain of a terrorist group that takes her captive.

"Damn!"

The man walked towards me, a whistle in his lips as he ran a hand on my back. My skin crawled in disgust.

"Don't touch me!" I hissed, panting as I looked at his soiled and sweaty countenance. The other men around me began to chuckle.

"I sure am gonna enjoy you tonight," He stretched his hand towards my face. In a snap, I turned in defense, stepping away from the horrid man as far as I could. Seconds ticked ... I felt nothing. Silence overcame the circle. What happened? I lifted my gaze slowly. Another man now gripped his outstretched arm.

"You won't," Authority emanated from his eyes, strength manifest in the way his arm gripped the other. Slowly, his gaze made its way to me. I swallowed. "She's mine,"
