Fresh out of middle school Veronica Lodge was excited for the summer ahead with her best friend Xavier Wallis. With unanswered text after unanswered text she goes to his house only to find he's run away. The summer passes and still he's not been found, Veronica accepts her fate of starting high school without her laid back best friend, her moral compass, her overprotective brother.
A year later and Veronica moved to Riverdale. After the drama and tragedy that was Jason blossom and now the BlackHood she finds herself unable to think of her best friend, her mind preoccupied with more pressing matters, until she is reunited with him at an unexpected moment.

Veronica and Betty became close as friends but she still was crushing on Jughead until he approached Betty in her room and kissed her. They decided to met each other's families after two months of dating. Her dad didn't support it so he kept on abusing Betty while Alice sat there watching it happen.
