The hospital was red, not a dull brick red, or an ugly neon red, but a nice rose red.
Maybe that's why it scared Virgil so much.

If he had to choose one word to describe himself, he'd choose the word 'Recipe'. He was some kinda messed up mixture of 1\2 anxiety, A messy 1/8'th of Loneliness, pills, anger and sarcasm, A separate 1\8'th paranoia, and 1\4'th Depression and Panic attacks.
in fact this recipe is what lands him in the infamous 'Sine peccatum', what his Aunt calls a school for troubled kids, and what Virgil Calls a mental hospital, because the kids locked inside are dangerous, and at first Virgil thinks its just because some of them could seriously hurt you, but he soon discovers how wrong he could be.
The doctors also have some strange rules.
1. You are not to go beyond the field on the north side of the school
2.Be in your rooms by 9 pm sharp, 10pm on weekends, and do not leave your room till 6 am the next day
3. If a peer collapses, and their eyes turn black, leave the area immediately, report to a teacher, you are excused from your classes, until the next day do not leave your rooms.
With a band of kids who are more messed up than he is, can Virgil discover the secrets of the Red hospital?
"I'm sorry, they found a what?"
The five years after the passing of King Victor had been very harsh on the kingdom of Eaden. No one would disagree with that. He had been a benevolent ruler and a kind man.
But everyone knew that his death had affected his son Thomas the most. Crowned king at the age of 24, and not having expected to rise to the position for years yet, Thomas had struggled to follow in his father's footsteps. He was getting much better, but it took time.
He had to thank his three advisors for that. The castle's experienced healer was his physician and confidant, a quick-witted and talented knight had proved his bravery and taken his spot as the kingdom's head of defense, and the tutor who had taught Thomas almost everything he knew as a child became his lead strategist. The three were like family to him, even if their occasional bickering set his nerves on edge.
And of course, the constant trouble that seemed to find them. Like now, for example, because King Thomas had just been informed that his Inner Circle had found a body of a young man in the moat of the castle.
