The adults of Wool's Orphanage were completely wrapped around Harrison Peverell's fingers.
They cherished him, dotted on him, gave him extra of everything, even when the Orphanage already had so little.
What they didn't know was that Harrison Peverell wasn't just a boy. He was a boy that got memories of his past life, everyday, through his dreams.

Tom Riddle, two years older than Harrison Peverell, was hated and feared at Wool's Orphanage. The only person that didn't hate or fear him was Harrison, who insisted on being called Harry.
Tom didn't know what drew him to Harry, he didn't know why he was so fascinated by the way his jewel like eyes shined with a sharp cunning that no 5-year-old should have, so he avoided Harrison.
He did this for a year, but Harry refused to be ignored.
At age six, Harrison Peverell got the future Dark Lord wrapped tightly around his finger with a simple sentence.

"Can you at least tell me where I am?" Riddle asked, breaking the silence. "I think the better question is 'when I am','" Harry said dryly. Riddle knew perfectly well what Harry meant by that. Harry could see it on his face. Whatever, I don't have time for this. He still had to plan on how to deal with the Dursleys. "Today is August 2nd, 1995," Harry deadpanned, relishing in the way those words caught Riddle off guard. The feeling sent a jolt up his spine. "How the- I travelled 50 years into the future?!" The sheer befuddlement and shock in those words were enough to make Harry believe that he'd gotten the date wrong.
