MONARCH fallows the life of a boy named Jasper  Wellings. When his mother comes down with cancer,  Jasper's father places it on himself to be her  nurse.  Caring for her at all hours of the day, never leaving her side. This scares Jasper, but his pet butterflies, a gift from his therapist,  keep him company. They reassure him that, with their help, Jasper can defeat the monsters that have intruded into their house hold and get to the bottom of the evil in the family. But first he has to trust the monarch.
