"I won't be coming back," he says quietly. "This is the last time I get to see you."
Then I broke. My eyes started watering. And before I knew what was happening, I was sobbing.
Adam's hand gently goes up and down my arm. "I have to go, Emily."
With that, he stands up and walks out of the room.
