"Princess!" he yelled after her. "Where are you going?" "Back to the castle," she replied without stopping. "Not by yourself you're not!" "I'm sorry,"-she whipped around-"I didn't realize you were my father?" "Your father, the king, would execute me for letting you travel by yourself." "Oh, so this is about self-preservation?" "Yes. Yours. There are monsters all over Hyrule now, Your Highness." Blue eyes pointedly looked her up and down. "And by the looks of it, you're not equipped to handle that." She mirrored his scrutiny and scoffed. "What, and you are?" She gestured to the cairns beyond the trees. "Are you going to protect me as well as you protected them?" Calamity is upon Hyrule. The Goddess Hylia appointed but two children to prevent the end of the world. The powers they were promised don't come easily, and after years of outright failure, Princess Zelda can't help but wonder if Hylia chose wrong. It certainly doesn't help that the boy fate has tangled her with makes her seethe. Devotion, heartbreak, inadequacy. Faith, perseverance, and courage. This is a story of finding what lies within. "You will aid the hero during his journey in defeating Calamity Ganon." That was the order that was given to you by goddess Hylia. Although the goddess had first planned to have the hero do his journey alone, she took sympathy for him and decided to create him a partner, one that would aid him during the dangerous travels to the Divine Beasts and finally, Calamity Ganon. That was your purpose. 100 years passed since the defeat of the Champions, although one remained. The one you were to help once he awoke from his slumber. Link. // This is a story entirely based on the game BOTW. Although a few changes will be made the overall story line will be game-based. Zelda and Link have finally reunited after the Calamity, and there's a lot to do to restore Hyrlue to its former glory. On their adventures together, Link and Zelda get closer than they ever were before. Could this finally be the Zelink we've all been waiting for? So we all want Zelink to happen, don't we, so I made this short story just as a substitute until it really happens (probably never). You'd think that when Kara and her friend, Amanda, are sucked into 'The Legend of Zelda,' Link and Dark Link would fall in love after many melodramatic scenes (there's only one bed, oHnOoOOO!), they'd have a great adventure, and all would be just peachy. But that isn't life. No one wants to hear their trauma is a video game, that though they're a princess they're doomed to one-sided love for good storytelling, or that their identity doesn't go beyond being a sub-boss for a water temple. But Kara and Amanda want to change that, which sets Miyomoto, the creator of 'The Legend of Zelda', out for their blood. And should he fail to kill them, there's always the flood to wipe things clean. A lot can happen in one year. Ka-thump! Link released his held breath as he watched the stag he was hunting drop to the ground with little grace. After the return of Zelda and the fall of Calamity Ganon, Link slaved away for one whole year doing what he could to keep himself busy. Then on one fateful day everything changed. Knock, knock, knock! Link looked to his door confused as he looked at the clock hanging on his wall. It was 3:30 in the morning. No one should have been knocking on his door, but what caught his eyes was the small envelope that slid under his door into the kitchen. He placed his cutting knife down and went over to the thing seeing his name written in extravagant hand writing he knew all too well. Zelda doesn't believe in soulmates; Zelda barely even believes in herself. That is, until Link turns up with a sword strapped to his back, heralding the end of times. Now, they must work together to prevent the fall of Hyrule and rise of Calamity Ganon. But, the task proves as tricky as expected, especially when Zelda feels like she's falling faster than her Kingdom...and perhaps in a way she never expected to.
