Fresh out of high school and reeling from a summer heartbreak, Mallory Doucette lands a scholarship at her dream university.  A new start in a dazzling new city is exactly what she needs, and her childhood friend promises to show her all its secrets. 
    
    But the secrets of New York are much more than she bargained for. Mal meets Angel at a party that goes disastrously wrong. Their dramatic motorcycle escape is supposed to be just another college story, but Mal can't keep her mind off the mysterious biker. There's something deeper, darker at play, a parallel New York that sits just under the surface, and soon Mal finds herself entangled in a romance that could cost her her reputation, her scholarship, and even her life.
