Darcy Nelson celebrates her 18th birthday, a week before she starts university. There, everything will be different. She's moving hundreds of miles away from her family. Fortunately, she's not doing this alone. Her best friend Gina is going with her, but she is moving in with her boyfriend Nick. Darcy had to choose between moving in with someone on campus or getting an apartment further away, by herself. She chose the second option because she's not good at socialization and even though she was really tempted by getting a roommate, she was even more scared of not getting along with a roommate, there's always a risk... And for what? Her best friend is with her and she doesn't need anyone else.
