After the Legion and the Mark fought at Monera Academy, the Daphtians and the monsters learned to live in peace, even though the Mark hasn't been fully defeated yet. Torn Mark swore revenge on the Legion and promised his return. 
Back at Monera Academy, a new boy, Heroid Troy, enrolled for the rest of the year. Even though he just came, Heroid showed amazing talent in his classes which impressed Hana, but worried Arthur. He suspects Heroid's true hierarchy because of his complete mastery over fire. Even becoming fireproof simultaneously. 
But Heroid seemed like the least of their worries for the time being. Ms. Renn, the Weaponry teacher, disappeared without a trace. Without the best combat artist of Monera Academy, Monera Academy and the Legion's defenses decreased drastically. And Torn Mark can strike at any time which worried everyone.

Fresh blood flows from the wound, turning his hands red. Deep throaty sounds, rumbling in his chest. "You hurt yourself," he says softly, pain evident in his voice. I look up and frown. "It's just a small cut," I reply, annoyed. None of the other cadets get this kind of attention. Besides, we have to learn this to pass the exam. "Shhh, it's going to be okay," he says, pressing me close. My whole side explodes with sparks. It tickles me. "You have to stop hurt yourself. Why are you even here? How am I going to protect you here?" he asks angrily. "I don't need your protection!" I shout, pushing him away. I get an angry growl back. Quickly I grab another knife and throws it over my shoulder, hitting bulls' eye. He glares at me, and the room has gone completely silent. That's when I discover that I may have gone too far with the insanely possessive highness, even though I'm grateful for the extra lessons he gives me. Then suddenly everyone hurries out of the training area. Leaving me alone with the growling, red eyed alpha. I didn't choose this life. I don't want it but when I saw him I just thought that maybe, just maybe, he'd be the one who'd take all the pain of my past away with a small kiss of his kissable lips. At least that was what I expected. Perhaps, the devil that pushed me in hell, got sick of me enjoying it there and he sent me someone that looks so angelic when he smiles to make me feel like I'm in heaven. But sadly, as soon as I leaned in to kiss his lips, I realized that just looking in his eyes, I'd feel in heaven but looking around and seeing all those demons, my demons, smirking at me, knowing they won because I let him in but he was just one of them when I thought he was different. But why fight at all? Why fight a fire that only burns brighter? "Listen, you can choose not to believe this. But I've been where you are, I've felt what you feel." I opened my mouth to snap back, but he continued, his voice more broken that I'd ever heard it. "Don't ask me how I know - all I know is I don't want to hurt you. I don't want a throne. I just... I just want you to be okay. I can't... I can't lose you too." His eyes held sincerity that should've filled me with guilt. Pain that should've made me reach for him. Something more that should've made my heart ache. But none affected me. Not anymore. I smiled, my voice a whisper as I spoke. "What makes you think I care about you losing me... when I don't even care if I lose myself?" The others may be trying to douse the fire but I'd rather let it burn. Burn until it consumed us all.
