Leia stared at her surroundings in alarm and confusion. This weren't her quarters on her ship, nor any quarters on any planet she'd ever lived in. It was a medical center. Everything seemed so big, no, it was her who was small. Small like an infant. The architecture seemed Nubian if her memory served her right. Her eyes focused on the young girl that was holding her in her arms, she was covered in sweat and trembling, gnawing on her lower lip as she inspected Leia through unreadable brown eyes. "Hey...", she greeted her in a shaky voice full of insecurity. Leia gulped and stared. Was this who she thought it was? If so, in the name of the force, how did this happen?!?
Old, lonely, tired, and slightly bitter Leia gets side-tracked on her way to becoming one with the force, young Padmé gets an unexpected surprise and the galaxy, especially Anakin Skywalker, a second chance.
Or, be careful what you wish for. Leia can attest to that.

AU, not canon-compliant 'cause I never went back to the cinema for a Star Wars sequels movie after meeting Ma-Rey-Sue and Crylo Ren in episode 7. That's just my own humble opinion, I'm not trying to offend anyone, to each their own.

Also obviously not owning Star Wars.
